How Do Dinosaurs Say I’m Mad? Was written by Jane Yolen and illustrated by Mark Teague。 It was published by Blue Sky Press In 2013 this book is science Fiction and it explores the possibilities for how dino’s could possibly act out and react to their anger whether it be destruction, ignoring, or throwing fits。 The dinosaur does not act this way, instead they take deep breaths, vocalize their feelings, and apologize。 It would be helpful for students to learn how to do the same。

Fabulous excellent wonderful book。 Highly recommend。

Dinosaurs demonstrate common behavior of angry children。This picture book helps teach emotional awareness, which is necessary for developing emotional self-regulation。

Grace

It teaches a good lesson, it rhymes, and the dinosaur pictures are colorful and clever。

I genuinely DO tend to like this series, but this one was frustrating。 It never actually gives any way for a "dinosaur" to say they're mad。 It tells you what not to do, then what to do is just count to ten, say sorry, and stop being mad (spoiler)。 Being mad is allowed!!!! We should be teaching kids things they CAN do when mad rather than telling them the only solution is to stop being mad。 I genuinely DO tend to like this series, but this one was frustrating。 It never actually gives any way for a "dinosaur" to say they're mad。 It tells you what not to do, then what to do is just count to ten, say sorry, and stop being mad (spoiler)。 Being mad is allowed!!!! The images on each page show an accurate depiction of the text though expressions and details。 The story itself is a great lesson for students to follow along。

The Book Squirrel

In this book, the author asks if dinosaurs stomp and rip up books and throw things when they are mad, but, no - they count to ten and breathe and say sorry and have a hug。

This book is a good way to talk to kids about anger and how to-- and how to not-- handle it。 I especially like how it shows that often bursts of anger can be quite short, and life can go back to normal when you take a step back and take a moment to calm down。

This whole series is excellent in Spanish

"How Do Dinosaurs Say I'm Mad?" is a brilliant addition to any early childhood educator's library。 Through colorful illustrations, we are shown many instances of dinosaurs throwing tantrums when they are not given what they want。 I enjoyed the little stories on each page, because they depict real-life tantrum-triggering events that everyone who cares for children can relate to。 This story also shows young readers that instead of being destructive when they're angry, they can learn to diffuse the "How Do Dinosaurs Say I'm Mad?" is a brilliant addition to any early childhood educator's library。 Through colorful illustrations, we are shown many instances of dinosaurs throwing tantrums when they are not given what they want。 I enjoyed the little stories on each page, because they depict real-life tantrum-triggering events that everyone who cares for children can relate to。 This story also shows young readers that instead of being destructive when they're angry, they can learn to diffuse the situation on their own。 I actually remember reading this book myself as a child, and looking back, I can see the possible positive effects it has had on my own behavior at a young age。 Overall, this a great children's book and is one that I would recommend to any teacher or parent。 。。。more

Okay, I love all of Jane Yolen’s work。 Her books vary incredibly by age range, topic, and character。 Her series of dinosaur books are perfect for dinosaur-loving toddlers。 They speak simply of a toddler’s life situations and are unique。Personally in a household without dino obsessed kids, the books fall flat for us a lot of the time。 But the content of this one really spoke to my 2 year old who is “mad” a lot these days。 It’s a fun one to check out when you want to address dealing with strong em Okay, I love all of Jane Yolen’s work。 Her books vary incredibly by age range, topic, and character。 Her series of dinosaur books are perfect for dinosaur-loving toddlers。 They speak simply of a toddler’s life situations and are unique。Personally in a household without dino obsessed kids, the books fall flat for us a lot of the time。 But the content of this one really spoke to my 2 year old who is “mad” a lot these days。 It’s a fun one to check out when you want to address dealing with strong emotions。 Not one to buy of your kid isn’t in love with dinosaurs。 Something that is cool, each illustration includes the actual name of the dinosaur species。 。。。more

I've read a lot of the other Dinosaur books by Jane Yolen and illustrated by Mark Teague and loved them。 This one does not disappoint。 Every time I read these books I'm grateful my children aren't dinosaurs。 LOL。 Their messes are so much bigger than my kids' messes。 I'm pretty sure that is part of Jan and Mark's intent when it comes to these books, making parents feel better about messy kids by showing giant messy "kids" aka dinosaurs。 Mr。 Teague's illustrations are colorful and exciting。 They m I've read a lot of the other Dinosaur books by Jane Yolen and illustrated by Mark Teague and loved them。 This one does not disappoint。 Every time I read these books I'm grateful my children aren't dinosaurs。 LOL。 Their messes are so much bigger than my kids' messes。 I'm pretty sure that is part of Jan and Mark's intent when it comes to these books, making parents feel better about messy kids by showing giant messy "kids" aka dinosaurs。 Mr。 Teague's illustrations are colorful and exciting。 They make Ms。 Yolen's words come alive。 I absolutely adore these books。 If your child loves dinosaurs and even if they don't they'll probably like these books。 。。。more

Good discussion book for young kids to talk about emotions (specifically anger) and appropriate ways of dealing with them。 Each page is a different dinosaur dealing with the emotion that a child might encounter in their day to day lives。

How Do Dinosaurs books are a fun series of books for your dinosaur loving young reader。 The rhyming text, variety of dinosaurs, and the classic illustration of the parents make this a fun book to read。 Quite a few of these books have had my husband and I laughing out loud or remembering a time the exact same thing has happened in our home。

Suzie

Great concept。 Kids like the illustrations and learning all the dino names, but I found the book’s rhymes didn’t flow well。

This is a great book for those kiddos who have temper issues。 Good resolution for little ones, and teaches quick and valuable anger-management techniques。

My 4 year old really likes this book。 I'm more ambivalent - I like that it talks about recognizing feelings and what to do, but don't like how it brings up physical/violent solutions, even to repudiate them later。 I also wish the dinosaurs were not all "he" in these books; I mix the pronouns when reading out loud。 My 4 year old really likes this book。 I'm more ambivalent - I like that it talks about recognizing feelings and what to do, but don't like how it brings up physical/violent solutions, even to repudiate them later。 I also wish the dinosaurs were not all "he" in these books; I mix the pronouns when reading out loud。 。。。more

I found the illustrations dated and sexist。 Why are all the fathers wearing suits and the mothers all look like 1950’s housewives? This is the first book I have read in the series and I’m curious to know if all the other books have similar sexist portrayals of mothers and fathers。 Also, the lesson of the book is suspect。 It seems to be saying it is okay to act badly, including throwing a mug at a cat, so long as you clean up at the end of the day and apologize。 I’m not even a cat person, but tha I found the illustrations dated and sexist。 Why are all the fathers wearing suits and the mothers all look like 1950’s housewives?
